Halifax, the capital of Nova Scotia, is easily one of the best cities on the east coast. Often regarded as one of Canada’s friendliest city, Halifax residents are a welcoming bunch. When you move here into your forever home, it will not take very long for you to make friends. The Haligonian community is a tight-knit one so you will always be surrounded by good friends and a community that you can be proud to belong to.
If you are not convinced yet, here are some more reasons why you should move to Halifax:
Great if you are looking for a vibrant student community
If you have kids that are approaching college-going age, you will be pleased with the burgeoning student population in Halifax. Halifax has a total of 6 universities with the oldest and most prestigious of them being Dalhousie. There are also about 3 community colleges, which leaves you with a lot of great options. Halifax also has the broadest selection of education options in Canada with a total of 14 independent schools situated in the city.
It is the perfect size
If you have been living in a big city and are finally ready to find a region that is less overwhelming, then Halifax is the perfect city for you to move to. You will appreciate the balance that it has to offer-Halifax has the flare of a large city but the charm of a small town.
The downtown area is a hub of business, culture, and food. But when you head up to North end, you will feel as if you are in a completely different city. Furthermore, Halifax really does have some of the best neighborhoods that have a perfect mix of new and old property to cater to an array of tastes.
Whether you are a looking for a starter home or a trying to find your perfect forever home in Halifax, owning a home is actually easier in Halifax than it is in other areas of Canada such as Vancouver and Toronto. Owing to the large student population, most of the property that you will find here is reasonably priced, which will help you if you have always wanted to fulfill the dream of owning property.
What’s not to love about Halifax? With the deep blue of the Atlantic observable from almost any location, you will love the city’s breathtaking views, the ocean breeze, and the sound of the waves putting you to bed each night.
